Snowdrops to daffodils and new-born lambs

To the Botanic Garden again, this morning, to learn about their project to DNA barcode all the flowering plant species in Wales.  They hope to have completed this by the end of April and to be the first nation in the world to do so.  Once completed, there’ll be a huge database of information which will be very useful to all sorts of people, not just scientists – they’ve already had a request to identify which plant is driving its roots through someone’s drains!

The snowdrops of February have now been replaced by drifts of daffodils and distant views of snow-white new-born lambs.
